The History of Photography
Camera Obscura
I used a long piece of card and taped one side to the other. Then, I got a squared white piece of card and cut a square in the middle, then stuck it on one side of the gap. After, I used tracing paper and stuck that to the other side. I used a magnifying glass to make into a camera and stuck it on the Camera Obscura.

Getting To Know The Camera
Natsumi Hayashi
Hayashi is a Japaneese photographer who lives in Tokyo. She is best known for her levitation photographs of herself looking light as air, shot mostly around the city. Levitation photos are supposed to emphasize the natural flow of time, Hayashi, who usually shoots with a shutter speed of 1/500th of a second or faster. The pose, too, is important. A position that feels right may not mesh well with the environment. “I must be aware of the shapes of my arms and legs and make slight adjustments in every jump,” she said. |
Benji Reid
Reid considers himself a Choreo-Photolist; a practice where theatricality, choreography and photography meet in a single or series of images. Within his single images he captures movement and motion and tells a story that has multiple layers
"There is movement in everything, but there is no drama without dramatic tension, and there is no image without soul". These are the layers of the Choreo Photolist. Within these walls lay a playfulness of elements, hearts in exploding backpacks, goldfish bowls as Astronaut helmets, water as propulsion for transportation. but the body in space has always been my weapon of choice my voice here I attempt to tell static stories that explore issue around mental heath, freedom and love of self. |

Michael Bosanko
Light painting photographer Michael Bosanko has been capturing light since 2004. He discovered light painting on accident, Michael says this of his moment of discovery, “the moon formed part of the scene, but the camera shake caused the moon to make a streak. My curious mind clipped the camera from the tripod and, hand held, I attempted to “write” my partner’s name using nothing but the moonshine and the movement of the camera in my hand, and I had success. As soon as I returned home, I adopted the same principles but with torches, and I’ve been hooked ever since.” Ever since that moment Michael has had great success with light painting photography, he has created images for several commercial clients and been published in numerous magazines.
